Absalom Jones Feast Day Celebration

You're invited to attend the annual Service of Holy Eucharist on Tues., Feb. 11, to celebrate the observance of Absalom Jones Day. Born a slave, Jones was the first African-American to become a priest in the Episcopal Church. The Rite II service will be at 11 AM in St. Philip's Chapel at Voorhees College, 386 Porter Dr., Denmark, SC, with music by the Voorhees Gospel Choir, the Rt. Rev. Andrew Waldo, celebrant, and the Rev. Robert Taylor, preacher. The February meeting of the Southern Deanery will follow the service.
